Spanish Summer Camps in Madrid
The Urban Culture Camp is a new way to enjoy the summer, learn a language, make friends and experience different cultures. Based in International House Madrid Ciudad Universitaria, this international course will give participants the opportunity to learn the language, living in a multi-cultural environment through practical, fun activities, visits and classes.
THE CLASSES
The language classes, 4 or 5 hours per day split into English learners and learners of Spanish as a Foreign Language, will be divided by age and level. The classes will focus on exploring literature and culture and using the students’ creativity to get the most out of their language skills as well. We’ll also be preparing an end of Camp Show.
THE ACTIVITIES
Every day is structured so that students participate in a wide range of distinct educational, recreational and cultural activities; classes normally take place in the morning followed by an afternoon visit or workshop; then the students take time off to enjoy sports (swimming, football etc.). After dinner, all students participate in social activities such as a relaxed language exchange between their newly made international friends, dancing at the “Light” Disco or singing in our “Karaoke Stars” Competition.EXAMPLE DAY
INSTALLATIONS
Each member of our Camp is allocated an individual room with internet access. Our classrooms are all air-conditioned but students can also cool off in the swimming pool after the day’s activities or head to the gym, play tennis, basketball, football or volleyball. Meals are taken in the centre’s dining room and the end of Camp Show will be in the purpose-built theatre.
AGE GROUP
The Camp is MULTICULTURAL, open to members learning English from 5 to 17 years old and to learners of Spanish as a foreign language from 12 to 17 years old.
DATES
The Camp is open during FIVE WEEKS: from 28th June to 31st July. The non-residential option is from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and includes morning and evening bus transfer from and to several key locations in Madrid.
